Has anyone been to zoo atlanta in Atlanta georgia ?
My son is dying to go and so we are planning a trip there for his birthday. We are a little tired of parties and decided to just have a memorable day to mark the occasion this what my little animal planet lover picked . A day at the zoo with lots of spending mooney for the gift shops and then on his actual birthday a small cake with us and babybrother and a few small presents. Odd choice for a four soon to be 5 year old. However he wants to know if they have alligators or crocs and I can’t find them on their list online they do have a picture of one on their reptile page so I’m assuming they do but he wants to be SURE. So I’m humoring him and throwing this question out there anyone been do they have alligators or crocs? Anyone whose been and has fun tips or whatever also share please!!! Thanks
yes they have crocs ( i believe and not gators but it could be reveresed) they have there own habitat in a swampy area.
Sounds like a great day. I do not know when you are planning to go but during the summer they often have enrichment days and you get to feed the animals etc.

What kind of egg is this? Reptile or bird?
My 4 year old nephew, Joshua, and I were digging for bugs in the backyard. I live just outside of Atlanta, GA which is in the South East of the US (never hurts to make sure)
We saw this egg and picked it up. Now we’re trying to figure out what sort of egg it is. It’s pretty small and has a rubbery shell so I was thinking reptile but I’m not sure. Thanks in advance!

It looks like a small snake egg. Unlike bird eggs that need to be turned when incubating, snake eggs cannot be turned or it will kill the developing embryo. When our snakes lay eggs, we lightly pencil an “X” on the top of the egg and then gently place them in the incubator.
